Letter: City fortunate to have generous businesses

Columbus

Early on in Mayor Jim Lienhoop’s administration, we had the opportunity to hold an off-site strategy meeting for department heads at a local employer’s facility — Columbus Regional Hospital. CRH staff graciously opened their Innovation Center for our use and allowed us the opportunity to meet some of their employees and get valuable knowledge about the services they provide.

We were fortunate again to have Toyota host our group this past month, providing a wonderful environment in which to work as a team, tour their plant and spend time learning about another of our city’s valuable employers.

Both experiences reinforced how fortunate Columbus is to have dedicated, responsible, philanthropic corporate partners who provide quality jobs and opportunities to residents in our community. We appreciate their generosity in hosting us, and it was beneficial to see the city’s workforce in action.

We plan to visit other employers throughout the city over the next few years and welcome future opportunities.
