Unresponsive in car, man arrested on drug charges

A report of a man unresponsive in a vehicle led to his arrest in the 2700 block of North National Road.

Ryan N. Roberts, 21, 3882 N. Tudor Court, was found in a vehicle about 6:45 p.m. Sunday. Officer Jeremy Jones was sent to check on him, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

When Jones arrived, Roberts woke up and began reaching under the driver’s seat and refused to show his hands, Harris said.

Jones found a pellet gun under the driver’s seat as well as a syringe and a small amount of heroin in Roberts’ vehicle, Harris said. Roberts was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of heroin, possession of a legend drug-injection device and possession of drug paraphernalia, Harris said.

Roberts is being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $17,500 bond, jail officials said.
