Through the centuries, history has silenced the voices of women. Through reenactment, we get to hear one during “Mary Bateman Clark: Woman of Colour and Courage,” 3 p.m. Saturday at the Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St. The event will feature narrative and reenactment by Eunice Brewer-Trotter and Ethel Brewer-McCane, who are great-great-great-granddaughters of Clark, a slave who sued her master for her freedom and won her precedent-setting case in 1821.
