I-65 lane restrictions begin tonight north of Columbus

Bartholomew County drivers heading north tonight on Interstate 65 will experience lane restrictions through the weekend.

The Indiana Depart-ment of Transportation will close two northbound lanes of I-65 in Johnson County for paving.

Milestone Contractors crews will replace asphalt and add permanent pavement markings on the northbound center lane of I-65 between Whiteland Road and Main Street/Greenwood. Operations are weather dependent.

The work will begin at 7 p.m. today, with traffic restricted to northbound I-65’s right lane only between mile markers 94 and 101. Ramp access at Whiteland Road, Worthsville Road and Main Street will be open.

The lane restriction will be lifted by 11 a.m. Sunday, when the northbound I-65 left and center lanes will open to traffic.

The work is part of INDOT’s $84 million Major Moves 2020 project which is rebuilding I-65 between Greenwood and Franklin.
