Robert Butler Nagel of Winnetka, Illinois, passed away Friday, October 14, 2016, after a long struggle with cancer.
Bob was born in Columbus on January 11, 1938, the son of Clarence and Ruth (nee Butler) Nagel. He grew up in Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School and Purdue University. He received an MBA from The University of Chicago. During his business career, he worked for United Airlines, Owens-Illinois, Lily Tulip, Kraft Foods and A. T. Kearney. He was a founding partner of CEO Partners consulting firm.
Bob was a loving husband and beloved father and grandfather. An engineer at heart, he was a life-long learner and served as a mentor to many. He loved traveling and visited over 30 countries with his wife and family. He was a faithful volunteer for his church and The University of Chicago.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 56 years Nancy (nee Wehmeier); daughters, Lizann (Enzo) Fragiotta and Kristin (Christopher) Merrill; and grandchildren, Lucas and Jason Fragiotta and Alexander and Katherine Merrill.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, October 18, in Winnetka, with a graveside service Wednesday, October 19, at Garland Brook Cemetery. For time of services call N. H. Scott Funeral Home at 847-998-1020.
