Charles E. Donahue, 79, of Columbus, died Thursday, October 27, 2016, at his home.

Charles was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a 45-year member of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union Local 136. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike with Pastor Van Breeding officiating.

Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time.

Burial will be at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Monday, November 7, 2016, at 1 p.m., with military honors presented by Jefferson American Legion Post No. 9.

Charles was born on March 4, 1937, in Scott County, Indiana, the son of Charles E. and Beatrice Ely Donahue.

He married Shirley J. Sparks on September 17, 1960.

Survivors include his children, Charles Michael Donahue of Utah, Timothy Scott Donahue of Seymour, Terence Patrick Donahue of Missouri, Sondra (Brian) Toburen of Columbus and Beth (Rick) Babbs of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Springmeyer of Scott County.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on September 10, 2014; a daughter, Teresa Ann Hudson; and a brother.
