‘Tis the season of thankfulness as the holidays approach. And what better way to foster that attitude than by helping others who need your time and talent? Here are a few ideas for ways to reach out, and many more on Page BX.
1 HOUR
Buddy up: The Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. Book Buddies program needs volunteers to listen to a child read in the elementary schools. Time: One hour per week. A one-hour training session and background check is provided. Information: 812-376-4461 or [email protected].
2 HOURS

Walk the walk: Columbus Animal Care Services seeks volunteers to walk dogs, socialize cats, clean and help with occasional events. Midday volunteers especially needed. Time commitment: Varies, two-hour time periods are typical. Information: Alyssia Burriss at 812-376-2505.
4 HOURS
Make season bright: Brighter Days Housing needs volunteers to supervise residents staying at the facility. Staff will accompany volunteers. Volunteers will work in four-hour shifts. Time commitment: Four hours per month minimum. Information: Kathy Thompson at [email protected] or 812-372-9421.
