BOYS BASKETBALL

Crusaders stay perfect

MARTINSVILLE — Columbus Christian ran its record to 8-0 Tuesday night with a 74-63 win at Martinsville Tabernacle Christian.

The Crusaders jumped out to a 38-28 halftime lead and held on from there. The outscored Tabernacle by one point in the second half.

Lain Isley scored 21 points, and Kyle Marsh added 20 to lead Columbus Christian. Evan Reed had 14, and Logan Roth contributed 12.

Trinity falls in OT

AUSTIN — Austin outscored Trinity Lutheran 8-7 in overtime to pull out a 53-52 victory.

Chad Stuckwisch led the Cougars (0-3) with 20 points. Jacob Rowe added 17.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Crusaders come up short

MARTINSVILLE — Columbus Christian scored 23 points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough in a 40-33 loss at Martinsville Tabernacle Christian.

The Crusaders (0-4) scored first basket, but then Tabernacle went on a 12-0 run to take control. Columbus Christian trailed 28-10 going to the fourth quarter, and its comeback fell a little short.

Lauren Barker led the Crusaders (0-4) with 13 points.

Owls down Panthers

SEYMOUR — Jennings County trailed by only five going into the fourth quarter, but Seymour pulled away for a 59-44 victory.

Sidney Gerkin, Eliza Gasper, Macy Roth and Alexus Brown all scored 11 points for the Panthers (2-6).

Tigers topple Cougars

LAWRENCEBURG — Lawrenceburg jumped out to a 27-12 halftime lead and went on to hand South Decatur a 55-27 loss.

Taylor Best and Stacy Fox each scored nine points to lead the Cougars (1-9). Mackenzie Kopplin and Madison Owens each grabbed six rebounds, while Fox had five assists and three steals.

WRESTLING

Eagles fall to Braves

TRAFALGAR — Indian Creek won six matches by pin and four others by forfeit in handing Brown County a 66-12 defeat.

David Tucker (106 pounds) and Evan Bullock (145) won by pin for the Eagles.
