Clarence R. “Buddy” Brown, 82, of Columbus, passed from this life at 1:05 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Premier Healthcare of North Vernon.

Mr. Brown was born September 24, 1934, in Edinburgh, Indiana, to Walter and Hazel Coy Brown.

He worked for Cosco Inc. for 28 years and retired from East Columbus United Methodist Church after several years of service in custodial maintenance.

He was a member of East Columbus United Methodist Church and he enjoyed bowling.

Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Marilyn Kay Mires Brown, who he married January 17, 1982; children, Larry (Jan) Brown of Greenwood, Michael (Paula) Brown of Commiskey, Linda Brown of Detroit, Michigan, and Rebecca (Wayne) Bunch of Columbus; stepchildren, Sheryl (Perry) Moore of Vernon and Mark Sweeney of Columbus; sister, Jessie Mings of Columbus; brother, Walter (Jerri) Brown Jr. of Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Evelyn Shepherd and Betty Pratt; and a grandson, Ryan Bowling.

The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at East Columbus United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Charles Aigner officiating.

Family and friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
