Senior bowler rolls 300 game

Donn Voyles achieved perfection in the Senior Men’s League when he bowled a 300 game.

Steve Phillips notched the high series with a 711. Wildcats had the team high handicap series with a 3,021 and lead the team standings at 109-27.

Matt Sanders posted the high game (289) and series (790) in the Tuesday Night Men’s League. Boyer Machine and Tool had the high team game (1,292), and Central Roofing recorded the high team series (2,606). Independents lead the team standings at 104-24.

WRESTLING

East JV kids go 3-0

Five Columbus East junior varsity wrestlers went unbeaten in the East Central Invitational.

Jeremy Clark, Cole Schultheis, Trever Foster, Caleb Wilson and Bricen Copeland all went 3-0. Noah White, Ashton Jones and Braydon Taylor all went 2-1.

BROOMBALL

Rockpile stays perfect

The Rockpile ran its record to 7-0 with a 5-1 win against Our Name is Earl. Todd Houchin scored two goals, and Ryan Ingalls, Stephanie Pigneri and Ricky Hooten all had one goal for Rockpile. Dane Bremer scored for Earl.

Monsters of Rock beat Toyota Tsunamis 7-2. Greg Thomas netted two goals, and Ben Eckhart, Rob Jones, Zach Henderson, Ken Douglas and Amanda Stewart all had one goal for Monsters. Jimmy Roberts scored both goals for Tsunamis.

Yoopers blanked Slappin’ Balls 5-0. Josh D’Anna scored two goals, and Dan del Genio, Garret Ehrick and Kha Vu all had one goal for Yoopers.

Flying Zambonis edged Hansons 1-0 on a goal from Becca Reutell.

In the Iron Man game, Team Black downed Team White 3-1. Tom Kubat, Scott Herron and Tom Kareus scored for Black; and Matt Street had the goal for White.

BASKETBALL

Five teams sweep

Schmitt, Mt. Healthy, Richards, Southside and Rockcreek all swept their boys and girls games in the Elementary Basketball League.

Schmitt’s boys beat Columbus Signature Academy — Fodrea 35-10, Mt. Healthy downed Columbus Signature Academy –Lincoln 39-17, Richards topped Clifty Creek 48-41, Southside routed Taylorsville 32-7 and Rockcreek knocked off Parkside 41-16.

In girls action, Schmitt downed CSA-Fodrea 42-17, Mt. Healthy beat CSA-Lincoln 33-14, Richards routed Clifty Creek 29-4, Southside topped Taylorsville 29-6 and Rockcreek got past Parkside 43-20.

Panthers take second

The Jennings County seventh-grade girls White team beat Madison 34-16 in the semifinals before falling to Scottsburg 43-25 in the championship game of the Scottsburg Tournament.

Lily Ernstes led the Panthers (5-4) with 20 points against Madison and 11 against Scottsburg.

Jennings’ eighth-grade girls White team lost to Madison 25-24. Addyson Kent led the Panthers (8-4) with eight points.
