Randall A. “Randy” Franklin, 65, of Columbus, formerly of Hartsville, died Saturday, December 24, 2016, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

He loved to ride his bicycle and in his earlier days he enjoyed delivering The Republic on his bicycle and visiting with friends while doing so. He loved to watch wrestling and loved spending time with family.

He was born June 15, 1951, in Columbus, and raised his whole life in Hartsville. Randy was the son of Oscar and Helen Shipley Franklin. They preceded him in death.

He is survived by a daughter, Shana, of Columbus; brothers, Jack Franklin of Columbus and Steve (Pat) Franklin of Elizabethtown; nieces, Susan Franklin, Stephanie Gorham and Shannon Franklin, all of Columbus; a nephew, Chris (Brenda) Franklin of Michigan; great-nephew, Nicholas Franklin; and great-nieces, Annyka and Isabella Franklin and Jessica Gorham.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Helen, and a brother, Byron Franklin.

Visitation for Randy will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, with a service following at 1 p.m., at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. Burial will be at Hartsville Cemetery.
