Westenedge Drive
Webster Childers Jr., 75, of Westenedge Drive, died at 9:30 a.m. January 11, 2017, at his home.
Webster was born February 6, 1941, in Columbus, the son of Chloe Webster and Syble H. Gribbons Childers. He married Vivian Baldwin November 25, 1994.
He was a member of Laborers’ Union Local 741 for 30 years. Following that, he was employed for 15 years at Walmart. Webster was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
There will be no services for Mr. Childers. Private burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian; sons, Mark (Norma) Childers of Columbus and Ronald Paul Childers of Taylorsville; stepsons, Jason E. Bridges, Jesse R. Bridges and Beau J. Bridges, all of Columbus; brothers, David (Doris) Childers of Edinburgh, Danny Childers of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Michael Childers of Columbus, Larry (Janice) Childers of Hope and Albert Childers of Greensburg; a sister, Ann (John) Hughes of Columbus; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sharon Kay Childers; a son, Timothy Childers; brothers, Leroy, Steve and Tommy Childers; and a sister, Lena Bragg.
Memorials may be made through Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home to the American Diabetes Association.
