Purdue Polytechnic visitation day slated

Purdue Polytechnic Columbus is inviting current high school and college transfer students to attend its annual College Visit Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the school, 4444 Kelly St., Columbus.

Students and families will learn about Purdue University, financial aid, student hosting and admissions. Students also will have the opportunity to meet faculty and explore various majors at an interactive booth fair. Lunch will be provided.

Purdue Polytechnic offers seven bachelor’s degree programs: computer information technology, engineering technology, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering technology, robotics engineering technology, organizational leadership and supply chain management technology.

Registration is required and can be completed online at purdue.edu/Columbus/visit.

Students make University of Evansville dean’s list

Three local students earned inclusion on the University of Evansville dean’s list for academic achievements during the 2016 fall semester. They are:

•Blair Bledsoe, Columbus, majoring in music therapy

•Anna McGriff, North Vernon, majoring in biochemistry

•Marisa Biehle, North Vernon, majoring in exercise science

To make the dean’s list at the University of Evansville, a student must earn at least a 3.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.
