I am a former Columbus resident and I did not support Mike Pence in the campaign because I strongly disagree with the policies he enacted as governor of Indiana, and I even more strongly disagree with the character of his running mate. That said, they were both elected, and I accept that.
My hope for Pence’s vice presidency is that he remembers that he will now need to focus on the good of the entire country. I hope Pence uses the vice presidency to protect the rights of all Americans, including LGBTQ, people of color, people of all religions, women and the poor. We all should feel safe in this great country. I want Pence to remember and fight for that, and if he does he will earn my respect and support.
