Polar Plunge returns to Columbus on Saturday

COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics Indiana will return to downtown Columbus for the third time at 11 a.m. Saturday outside The Commons.

Individuals jump into a four-foot-deep outdoor pool to raise money for an organization that supports residents with intellectual disabilities. To participate, adults must raise at least $75 in pledges. High school and college students who show identification must raise a minimum of $50 to participate. Participants must be at least 12 on the day of the event, with parental permission required for people younger than 18. Registration will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Spectators and guests can attend the “Splash Bash” for a $5 fee.
