GYMNASTICS

Bull Dogs down Owls

SEYMOUR — Ashley Holliday won the all-around competition to lead Columbus North to a 108.77-104.35 win at Seymour.

Holliday captured the vault (9.05) and beam (9.7) and finished second on the bars (9.0) and floor (9.4) on her way to a 37.15 all-around score. Claire Thompson won the bars (9.55) and finished second on the vault (8.95) and fourth on the beam (8.975) for third in the all-around (35.7).

North’s Sami Heathcote took third on the floor (9.325) and fourth in the all-around (34.7). Kaitlyn Calandro was third on the beam (9.15).

BOYS SWIMMING

North routs Southport

INDIANAPOLIS — Columbus North won 11 of the 12 events in rolling to a 119-64 win at Southport.

Jared Carroll won the 200-yard freestyle (1 minute, 55.14 seconds) and 100 buttefly (55.90), and Sam Russell took the 500 freestyle (4:54.93) and 100 backstroke (59.57) to lead the Bull Frogs.

Other individual winners for North were Angel Torres Martinez in the 200 individual medley (2:06.81), Evan Patterson in the 50 freestyle (23.41), Kaemon Jiles in the diving competition (261.95), Nick Green in the 100 freestyle (51.91). The Bull Frogs also took the 200 freestyle (1:35.19) and 400 freestyle (3:30.58) relays.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Crusaders rally for win

INDIANAPOLIS — Columbus Christian trailed by three points going into the fourth quarter, but outscored Colonial Christian 13-2 to pull out a 32-24 win.

Lauren Barker led the Crusaders (2-12) with 23 points. Kayla Jones had 11 rebounds.

Panthers get revenge

FLOYDS KNOBS — Jennings County avenged a loss to Floyd Central just seven days earlier by downing the Highlanders 45-38 in the opening round of the Floyd Central Sectional.

The Panthers (10-14) move on to face New Albany in Friday’s semifinals.

Tigers top Trinity

ORLEANS — Trinity Lutheran went overtime before falling to Crothersville 49-47 in the opening round of the Orleans Sectional.

Whitney Rogers led the Cougars (11-14) with 16 points. Piper Acton added 14.

INDIANAPOLIS — Columbus Christian jumped out to a 39-14 lead at halftime and cruised to their 20th win, a 59-45 victory at Colonial Christian.

Blake Barker led the Crusaders (20-5) with 19 points. Kyle Marsh added 13.
