Man accused of pointing rifle at a neighbor

Columbus police arrested a local man after he was accused of pointing a rifle at his neighbor during a dispute.

Shortly after 5 p.m. Friday, officers were sent to the 1400 block of Pearl Street about a disturbance involving a firearm, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Officers spoke to several witnesses who said an argument began when a man began video recording a fight among neighbors, Harris said. Witnesses said Arthur N. Daniels, 30, confronted the neighbor about recording them and threatened them with a hunting rifle, Harris said.

Daniels was arrested on charges of intimidation with a deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance and a Jennings County arrest warrant. Officer Jeremy Jones and K-9 Max located Daniels’ rifle in an open shed in the 1500 block of Chestnut Street.
