Donna Jean “DJ” Marsters, 48, of New Albany, passed away at 12:17 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany.

She was born on Nov. 26, 1968, the daughter of Robert E. and Bertha I. (Stuart) Black in Greensburg, Indiana. She was born and raised in Greensburg and had lived most of her life in Decatur County. She was a former resident of Radcliff, Kentucky, and was a current resident of New Albany for the past three years. She graduated from American School and was a former employee of South Decatur Elementary School for five years. She attended Westport Wesleyan Church and Greensburg Wesleyan Church and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in New Albany.

DJ enjoyed crafts, photography, essential oils, making coffee mugs and t-shirts for people, cooking and baking.

She married David Scott Marsters on Sept. 3, 2015, at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and he survives.

Other survivors include her parents, Robert E. and Bertha (Stuart) Black of Greensburg; daughters, Heather Nicole (Gayle) Coombs of Greensburg, Jessica Chyan Neukam of North Vernon and Sarah Elizabeth Reese of New Albany; son, Michael Howard Fletcher II of Greensburg; sister, Carol Sue (Cliff) Nobbe of Greensburg; brothers, Kenny Dale Black of Greensburg and Donald Eugene (Diane) Black of Greensburg; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her second husband, Christopher Wayne Reese.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Pastor Doug Preston officiating. Burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the funeral home.
