Jenny’s Picks – February 9

I’m a sucker for love songs, be they new or old, so I hope to join Lalith “Guy” Paranavitana for “Guy Sings Love Songs,” 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Paranavitana is a local vocalist; he’ll cover songs such as “My Funny Valentine,” “Love is a Many Splendored-Thing” and “Love Me Tender.” Information: 812-379-5672 or mybcpl.org.

It used to be that I bragged about what obscure bands I knew; the kids these days brag about what they know about past presidents and politics. Show off your knowledge of all things related to the Oval Office during “Presidential Trivial on President’s Day,” 6 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Enjoy answering presidential trivia questions. Bring your family and friends, or just bring yourself and your smartphone or tablet because participants will need to download an app to answer the questions.
