Tim Ferguson, 68, of York, South Carolina, died on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at his home with family and friends in attendance. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio, to Eugene R. and Lois M Giblin Ferguson.
A graduate of Youngstown State University in 1973, Tim had a successful career as a human resource executive with GE and later Greenfield Industries, Kennametal, Stanley Tool and Dorel Juvenile Group, retiring in Dec. 2014. He continued doing union negotiations for Dorel for two more years. Tim also worked as an HR consultant for American Hospice.
Working on his Chevy’s, playing golf and woodworking were his way of relaxing. Spending time with his family was his passion.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of almost 47 years, Linda (Feuerstein) Ferguson; daughter, Jen (Coley) O’Brien of Powell, Ohio; son, TJ (Jamie Spencer) Ferguson Jr. of Roanoke, Texas; and grandchildren, Brendan O’Brien, Aiden O’Brien, Caitlin O’Brien, Lana Ferguson and TJ (JJ) Ferguson III.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tim was brother to David (Helena) Ferguson of Enon, Ohio, Gerald (Diane) Ferguson of Salem, Virginia, Sheryl (Jim) Fortnat and Mike (Dawn) Ferguson of Austintown, Ohio. He also leaves an uncle, Ted Cox of Canfield, and an aunt, MaryAnn Ferguson of Hubbard, numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of Tim’s life will take place on March 4, 2017, with mass at noon at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 10700 Liberty Road South in Powell, Ohio, followed by lunch at Vittoria Ristorante, 10241 Sawmill Parkway in Powell.
