Fastpitch softball registration continues

Signups for the Girls Fastpitch Softball League will continue through Friday for ages 6 through high school.

There will be divisions for ages 8-and-under, 10-and-under, 13-and-under and high school. Registration is $50 per player, with scholarships available.

Games for the 8U and 10U divisions will begin the week of May 15, and 13U and high school games will start the week of June 12. All players must have a glove, and helmet and cleats are recommended.

Flag football league will register teams

Registration for the Columbus Flag Football League Spring 2017 season will be Friday at Fourth Street Bar and Grill.

Fees are $550 for the men’s league and $350 for the women’s league. The season will begin April 2.

Shadowood to host golf rules meeting

Indiana High School Golf RULES!, a website (inhsgolfrules.com) dedicated to rules education for high school coaches, players, and parents will hold four rules meetings across the state, including on at 6:30 p.m. April 3 at Shadowood Golf Course.

A USGA official conduct the meetings, and rules books will be available.

Zeller Family Program coming to Whiteland

Clark Pleasant Middle School in Whiteland will host DistinXion, a Zeller Family Program, on Saturday and March 19.

The basketball camp is for boys and girls of all skill levels entering Grades 2 to 8. Registration is $89.

Donner to host New Swimmer Evaluations

Donner Swim Club will hold New Swimmer Evaluations from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. April 12 and 13 at the Columbus North High School pool.

Club members will be on hand to answer questions and guide parents through the registration process.

Former coach holding swimming, diving lessons

Former Columbus North swim coach Jim Sheridan will host Frog Swimming and Diving Lessons beginning in June.

Half-hour one-on-one individual swimming and 3-on-1 individual diving sessions will be from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 5-9, June 12-16, June 19-23, June 26-30 and July 3-7 at the North High School pool. Participants get five 30-minute lessons for $65.

Association offering program for officials

The Indiana Officials Association is offering a program for individuals interested in officiating high school and youth football.

Applicants must register and pay a fee by June 7. The fee includes IOA membership, materials and instruction. Officials also must join the IHSAA and pay the licensing fee and will receive rule books and other materials.

There will be rules and mechanics study from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays in June and July 12 and 19 at Lawrence North High School.
