Police dismantle meth distribution operation in Elizabethtown

A traffic stop in Columbus led to the dismantling of a methamphetamine distribution operation in Elizabethtown.

The Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested two people and confiscated a large amount of paraphernalia, drugs and drug-dealing equipment Tuesday from a home in the 100 block of 11th Street in Elizabethtown, police said.

Stephanie Cecil, 28, 107 11th St., was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia, police said.

Travis Sneed, 23, 107 11th St., was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of paraphernalia and a Bartholomew County warrant, police said.

The investigation began after Columbus police stopped a vehicle that Angela K. Spencer, 39, Columbus, was a passenger in on Monday and arrested her on three Bartholomew County warrants and for possession of methamphetamine, police said. During the investigation, police determined Spencer obtained the methamphetamine from Cecil.
