Roger Lee Preston, 66, of Elizabethtown, passed from this life at 7:39 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017, at his home.
Mr. Preston was born August 8, 1950, in Greensburg, Indiana, the son of Robert and Mabel Clark Preston. He married Judy C. Priddy October 24, 1969.
Roger was a maintenance technician at Master Power Transmission, retiring July 29, 2016, after 48 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, woodworking, and inventing and building things and he was an all around handyman.
Mr. Preston is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judy; sons, Roger Dale Preston of Chicago and Jason Lee Preston (Melissa) of Arlington, Indiana; grandchildren, Dalton Lee, Hunter Logan and Zavier Colton Preston; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Mr. Preston was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Vansicle, Mona Wallace, Pauline Snyder, Shirley Cross, Jenny Clemens, Alice Preston and Sandy Cheek; and a brother, L.W. “Jake” Preston.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Philip Bogear officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
