Morgantown woman accused of multiple drug-related charges

Columbus police arrested a Morgantown woman for multiple drug-related charges after she failed to stop at a local intersection. Samantha K. Gay, 27, was arrested on charges of:

  • Dealing in methamphetamine greater than 10 grams
  • Possession of methamphetamine 10 to 28 grams
  • Trafficking with an inmate
  • Possession of a legend drug injection device
  • False informing
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Brown County arrest warrant for dealing methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia

Columbus police said Sgt. Ben Goodin saw Gay fail to stop at the intersection of Middle Road and Poshard drive at 2 p.m. Thursday and stopped the vehicle. Gay provided Goodin with a driver’s license that belonged to another person, and then falsely identified herself a second time, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman. Gay was then identified and arrested, and in the process told police there were narcotics inside the vehicle. Officers found marijuana, pipes with drug residue, two digital scales, 70 syringes as well as additional drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. While being processed at the jail, officers found an additional bag of methamphetamine Gay attempted to conceal in her clothing. Police also learned Gay had a Brown County warrant for her arrest.
