Police arrest local man on probation warrant

Columbus police, assisted by detectives from the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Greenwood Police Department, arrested a local man on a felony probation warrant.

Michael W. Nida II, 21, Columbus, was located at an apartment in Greenwood Tuesday night, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

He was arrested on charges of a Bartholomew County probation warrant on the original charges of felony intimidation, domestic battery with bodily injury, strangulation and interfering with the reporting of a crime, police said.

Nida II is being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bond, jail officials said.
