Former church minister pleads not guilty to felony charges

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Justin K. White, the former senior minister at a Columbus church, pleaded not guilty to felony criminal charges of insurance fraud and contributing to the delinquency of a minor at a preliminary hearing this morning.

White, who resigned his position at First Christian Church in March, is accused of planning a burglary of his home, with the help of a minor, in order to obtain insurance money to pay off a drug debt.

Today’s preliminary hearing took place in Bartholomew Circuit Court. A pretrial hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. Aug. 7, and a jury trial is set for 8:30 a.m. Sept. 5.
