Kenneth A. Hilderbrand, 91, 0f Columbus, passed away at 5:54 p.m. April 10, 2017, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Kenny was born July 22, 1925, in Palestine, Illinois, the son of Arthur A. and Nannie Rose McAndrew Hilderbrand. He married Virginia Rose Ferguson July 3, 1945, and was her devoted husband until her passing in 2006.

Kenny worked most of his life in the automobile business and many knew him as the owner of Hilderbrand Auto Supply.

Kenny was a member of the East Columbus United Methodist Church and was committed to living his Christian faith.

Living his early years on Hickory Ridge and in Houston, Indiana, his favorite pastime was exploring nature in Jackson and Brown counties.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Aigner officiating. Calling hours will be from noon until time of service Friday. Entombment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum with military honors presented by the Bartholomew Count Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association through the funeral home.

Survivors include his son, Larry K. Hilderbrand of Indianapolis; his daughter, Donna K. (Tom) Davis of Columbus; brother, George Hilderbrand of Columbus and one grandchild, Emily Quigley of Boston, Massachusetts.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia; brothers, Harold, Chloral, Robert, Paul and Bill Hilderbrand; and his sister, Alice Kellum.
