Firefighters from multiple departments were battling a fire in a large wooded area Saturday in the 1300 block of Bellsville Pike on the west side of Columbus, near Grand-view Lake.
Bartholomew County’s 911 dispatch center received a call about the fire at 5:02 p.m.
About a half-dozen fire departments — both township and city — worked together to battle the blaze. However, no homes were in the area, Wayne Township Fire Chief Rick Trimpe said.
