Medical emergency sidelines speaker for ‘Moving the Needle: A Community Forum’

The speakers lineup for Wednesday night’s “Moving the Needle: A Community Forum” has changed due to a medical emergency.

Sam Quinones, author of the book “Dreamland: The True Tale of America’s Opiate Epidemic,” is unable to appear in person due to an unforseen medical emergency, Healthy Communities officials announced Tuesday.

Although he will not be available personally, a video of his presentation will be shown at the event, which is scheduled for6:30 p.m. Wednesday at The Commons in downtown Columbus. It is free and open to the public.

Dr. Kendall Stewart, vice president for medical affairs and chief medical officer for the Southern Ohio Medical Center, will be speaking at the event, Healthy Communities said.
