BLOOMINGTON — Thirteenth-ranked Columbus North swept the singles spots Monday in posting a 4-1 win at No. 19 Bloomington North.

Aubrey Smith beat Carolina Lopes 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, Madelyn Sanders downed Bailey Gardner 6-7 (4), 6-0, 7-6 (4) at No. 2 singles and Yijaing Zhao blanked Joy Bhattacharya 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for the Bull Dogs (10-1). Eva Chavalier and Ali Bergman topped Sophie Fornefeld and Rachel Barrett 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.

North’s Shweta Srinivasan and Servane Cloteaux fell to Lillian McAfee and Isabel Flynn 1-6, 5-7, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles.

Olympians topple Pirates

GREENSBURG — No. 26 Columbus East won four matches in straight sets in a 4-1 win at Greensburg.

Megna Chari beat Reagan Rigney 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, Adycin Rager downed Bailey Menkedick 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Alaysha Pollert blanked Ellie Acra 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for the Olympians (5-3). Kathryn Hodzen and Kendall Gerkin topped Elaine Welage and Julia Pacilio 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles.

East’s Emie Kiser and Maddy Rhodes fell to Kirsten Fong and Claudia Westhafer 4-6, 6-4, (10-4) at No. 2 doubles.

Eagles edge Braves

BROWNSTOWN — Brown County swept the doubles matches to claim a 3-2 win at Brownstown Central.

Elisabeth Huls blanked Carly Brown 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles for the Eagles (3-3). Vanessa Hoskins and Jacey Ferguson beat Olivia Hackman and Rachel Adkins 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles, and Sarah Barrick and Maria Villalon downed Claudia Sibrel and Sydney Cockerham 7-6 (2), 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.

Spartans stop Lancers

EDINBURGH — Edinburgh won the No. 1 singles match, but Southwestern (Shelby) took the other four in a 4-1 Mid-Hoosier Conference win.

Allie Schooler beat Jenna Kuntz 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles for the Lancers. Molly Bowker fell to Abby Sweet 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, and Heather Jones lost to Vanessa Smith 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.

Sydney Schlotter and Hannah Gosman fell to Brenna Jackson and Morgan Brockman 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles. Haley Jones and Sophia Parmer lost to Talice Relleke and Hailey Bowman 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.

Twisters top Trinity

OLDENBURG — Trinity Lutheran won the No. 1 doubles match, but that was all in a 4-1 loss at Oldenburg Academy.

Leah Stuckwisch and Lauren Voss won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. Courtney Barker fell 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles for the Lancers. Abby Schult lost 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, Sidney Hoene fell 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles and Lauren Fleetwood, Cassidy Burnside lost 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.

Jets rally in seventh

FAIRLAND — Class A No. 2 Hauser scored three times in the top of the seventh to rally for a 5-4 win at Triton Central.

Mykenzie Ault led off the seventh with a single, and Sydney Schoen reached on an error. Tessa Sims then singled to score Ault, but was thrown out trying to take second on the throw to the plate. Hailey Lange then smacked an RBI-double to score Schoen, and Hunter Crain singled to score Lange.

The Tigers loaded bases with two out in seventh, but Crain got out of the jam to preserve the win.

Sims went 3 for 3, and Hailey Lange went 2 for 3 with two RBIs for the Jets (8-2). Ault went 2 for 3, and Crain went 2 for 4.

South Decatur falls

LAWRENCEBURG — South Decatur was held to two hits in an 8-1 loss at Lawrenceburg.

Pitcher Mackenzie Kopplin knocked in the lone run for the Cougars (1-8).

Jets JV tops Crusaders

HOPE — The Hauser junior varsity trailed 2-1 after 2½ innings before rallying for a 12-2, six-inning win against the Columbus Christian varsity.

Austin Bennefiel went 2 for 2 for the Jets. Parker Eickbush went 2 for 3 with two doubles and three RBIs.

Jennings-Floyd Central

FLOYDS KNOBS — Garrett Marsh threw a four-hitter to lead Jennings County to a 1-0 win at Floyd Central.

Marsh also went 2 for 3 at the plate for the Panthers (2-5). Tyler Vogel went 2 for 4.

Twisters topple Lancers

EDINBURGH — Edinburgh outhit Oldenburg Academy 8-6, but the Twisters managed a 4-1 victory.

Zach Murphy went 3 for 4 with three doubles for the Lancers (4-5). Ryan Gaston went 2 for 3.

TRACK AND FIELD

Hauser girls second

NEW PALESTINE — Hauser’s girls finished second and boys fourth in a quad meet at New Palestine.

New Pal won the girls meet with 131 points to 37 for the Jets, 33 for Triton Central and 29 for Waldron. Hauser’s Grace Hasler won the 100-meter hurdles (16.6 seconds) and 300 hurdles (48.4).

New Palestine’s boys won with 129 points to 57 for Triton Central, 43 for Waldron and 14 for the Jets. Pete Trotter took the shot put with a throw of 44 feet, 4½ inches.

Panthers sweep Eagles

BLOOMINGTON — Bloomington South swept a dual with Brown County, winning the boys meet 94-29 and the girls contest 82-41.

Maddy Fields led the Eagle girls with wins in the pole vault (10-6) and 400 (1:03.70). Elly Wertz took the long jump (16-3), Vivien Crimmins captured the 100 hurdles (16.32) and Brown County won the 4×100 (51.10) and 4×400 (4:16.44) relays.

Isaiah Keefauver won the 400 (53.43), and Wyatt Wyman took the 800 (2:00.53) for the boys. The Eagles also captured the 4×800 (8:08.88) and 4×400 (3:32.31) relays.

Braves slip past Eagles

NASHVILLE — Parker VanNess won medalist honors with a 1-over-par 37, but Brown County fell to Brownstown Central 178-183 at Salt Creek.

Dawson Dunnuck and Ben Rygiel each shot 47 for the Eagles. Tyler Poling carded a 52, Brendan Asher and Rex Waters each shot 59, Chris Cregg added a 78 and Emerey Brock had an 84.

Cougars down Hornets

SEYMOUR — Cory Stuckwisch won medalist honors with a 41 to lead Trinity Lutheran to a 171-202 win against Henryville at Shadowood.

Skylar Stahl carded a 42 for the Cougars. Jonathon Keith added a 43, Drew Royalty shot 45, Jacob Keith had a 46 and Chad Stuckwisch finished with a 47.
