St. Bartholomew golfers win tri match

Central Middle School had the medalist, but St. Bartholomew won the tri match Monday at Valle Vista.

The Irish finished with a 204 team total. Host Greenwood finished second with a 210, and the Chargers had a 219.

Michael Gambaiani led St. Bartholomew with a 45. Willy Davis added a 50, Jack Schiavello shot 54 and Carter Ward had a 55.

Central’s Jacob Niedbalski was medalist with a 36. Chase Jones carded a 58, Cam Stattenfield added a 60, Kai Stidham shot 66 and Damon Gregory had a 67.

TRACK AND FIELD

Jets take second

The Hauser Junior High track teams finished second in a tri meet.

North Decatur won the boys meet with 50 points to 40 for the Jets and 35 for Waldron.

North Decatur’s girls scored 45½ to 41 for Hauser and 39½ for Waldron.

Ashley Chambers won the high jump and 800 meters, and Adonah Riddle took the shot put and 100 to lead the girls. Lilly Jones won the discus, and Carly Beeker took the 100 hurdles.

The lone boys winner was Thomas Essex in the 400.

Panthers sweep Braves

Jennings County swept Brownstown Central Monday, with the boys winning 63-34 and the girls prevailing 61-44.

Qwenton Bolden won the long jump and 200, and Logan McIntosh took the 1,600 and 800 to lead the Panther boys.

Joe Duff captured the high jump, Ryan Leonard took the 100 hurdles and Jennings swept the 4×800, 4×100 and 4×400 relays.

Addyson Kent led the girls with wins in the 100 hurdles and 400. Elizabeth Wahlman took the 1,600, and the Panthers took the 4×100 and 4×400 relays.
