Power restored to 1,000 customers in southeast Bartholomew County

Power has been restored in southeastern Bartholomew County after a 50-minute outage, starting at 11:26 a.m. and continuing to 12:18 p.m.

Farm machinery brought down a transmission line in Reddington causing the power to the Elizabethtown substation to be shut off, said Bartholomew County REMC.  Duke Energy was able to re-route power.

Duke Energy also had 1,008 people without power due to this accident. No injuries were reported.

Bartholomew County REMC reported at 11:26 a.m. that about 1,000 customers in the southeast portion of Bartholomew County and Geneva Township in Jennings County were without power.
