Medora man arrested on meth, theft charges

Columbus police arrested a Medora man for possession of methamphetamine, theft and four Bartholomew County warrants after he was seen acting suspiciously around a Columbus store.

Columbus police were called to the 2300 block of 25th Street and found Aaron J. Crum, 30, who appeared to be ill. A warrant check determined there were four warrants pending for Crum, all involving failure to appear, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

While searching Crum’s clothing, officers found a small amount of methamphetamine in a pack of cigarettes, Harris said. Crum is also a suspect in a theft of nearly $1,700 after he was accused of using a bank card that did not belong to him to make cash withdrawals and purchase several items from a local store. Crum was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail.
