Twila Williamson, 53, of Elizabethtown, died at 10:30 p.m. April 22, 2017, at the home she shared with her parents.

Twila was born March 12, 1964, in Columbus, the daughter of Max R. “Rod” and Maxine J. Kohler Williamson. She was married to Alasdair Wallace for 13 years and he preceded her in death. Though Twila had no children, her loving family included her dogs, Cleo and Jina, and cats, Barabajagal, Penelope and Ophelia.

Twila and her husband lived in England, France, Israel and Greece, where she enjoyed teaching English. Twila was passionate about traveling both nationally and internationally. During this time, she established close and lasting personal relationships across cultural divides.

Twila attended Columbus East High School, Indiana University, University of Washington, Revere Academy in San Francisco and the University of Vermont, where she graduated Suma Cum Laude.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor John Armstrong officiating. Calling will be from 1 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union), the Bartholomew County Humane Society or the donor’s choice of charity through the funeral home.

Survivors include her parents; a sister, Rhonda Williamson of Keyport, Washington; brother, Scott (Patty) Williamson of Berkley, California; nieces, Nicole Lawrence of Kingston, Washington and Olivia Davis of Brooklyn, New York; great-nieces, Samantha Perry and Makaha Lawrence; and great-nephews, Jacob Perry and Pápi Lawrence.
