Suicide prevention fundraiser slated

The Second Annual Ride 4 Suicide motorcycle fundraiser for suicide awareness and prevention will begin at 10 a.m. May 13 beginning at David Whitehead’s residence at 444 E. Road 700N in Edinburgh.

Cost is $20 for a single rider and $25 total for a rider and a passenger combined, according to organizers. Registration begins at 9 a.m.

Fees go to the nonprofit American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

A fundraising meal for a separate cost of $10 per person will follow the ride at the Whitehead residence. Also, T-shirts will be sold for $13.

Last year’s event raised $2,500, which is this year’s goal, said Makayla Woodcock, who is helping with the gathering alongside Katelyn Boroughs.
