We’ve been flocked!

The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Team, “The Cure Crusaders,” left a calling card of a flock of purple flamingos at The Republic today to encourage donations to the American Cancer Society.

A ransom note with the flamingos notes that these purple beauties are very territorial and unless placed on someone else’s lawn, they will roost for a very long time.

The team promises to remove the flamingos and place them in a new location of the newspaper’s choosing after The Republic makes a donation … and where there headed next is being mulled over now.

Luckily for you, you may purchase “flocking insurance” to protect your yard from future roosting purple flamingos.

To learn more, or to avoid having The Republic send purple flamingos your way, email columbuscurecrusaders@gmail.com or visit relayforlife.org/columbusin.

Sixteen Relay for Life teams will participate 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. June 17 in the event at Donner Park to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

Hope’s Relay for Life will be 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. June 3 at Hope’s Town Square.
