Police: Mother, son arrested on warrants

Columbus police arrested a mother and son on warrants while investigating a missing-person report.

Officers were sent to the 100 block of Carrie Lane at 7 p.m. Monday where they located Kyle G. Lewis, 21, of 1614 Gladstone Ave., who had been reported as a missing person, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Police confirmed there was a Johnson County warrant for Lewis’ arrest on a charge of dealing in methamphetamine, and he was arrested, Harris said.

Officers also arrested Lewis’ mother, Heather S. Payne, 40, of 161 Carrie Lane, after confirming she had a body attachment warrant out of Bartholomew County.

Lewis is being held without bond in the Bartholomew County Jail, jail officials said.

Payne was released from jail after posting $190 bond, jail officials said.
