Man treated, released after flipping truck in accident

A Hope man was treated and released from the hospital after being injured in a one-vehicle accident Tuesday in the 11000 block of North Marr Road.

Ryan T. Meahl, 20, of 11555 E. County Road 885N, Hope, was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated – endangerment and illegal consumption after he was released from the hospital, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies said.

Deputy Adam Warner was sent to a report of a possible intoxicated driver on North Marr Road at about 6:25 p.m. Tuesday, deputies said.

While heading there, he learned about the single-vehicle accident and found a silver Chevrolet S10 on its side off the roadway, deputies said.

It appeared the vehicle had attempted to navigate a curve at a high rate of speed, left the roadway, hit a fence and rolled, deputies said. Meahl has since been released from the Bartholomew County Jail, jail officials said.

The Clifford Fire Department and Columbus Regional Hospital emergency services assisted sheriff’s deputies at the scene.
