Ned Fear

Ned E. Fear, 72, of Hartsville, died Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at his home.

Mr. Fear was born June 18, 1944, in Decatur County, Indiana, the son of Barrett W. and Leila Ammerman Fear.

Mr. Fear was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clifty and the National Rifle Association, and a former member of the Modern Farmer’s Club. He served on the Bartholomew County 4-H Council for many years and was a 4-H leader for 22 years. He loved spending time with his dogs.

Mr. Fear is survived by nieces and nephews, Donna Bentz of Waldron, David Fear and Pam Barkes of Columbus, Cheryl Mead of Elizabethtown, Mark Fear of Seymour and Vicky Campfield of North Vernon; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Mr. Fear was preceded in death his parents; a brother, Paul Fear; and an infant sister, MaryAnn Fear.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Section 58 at Garland Brook Cemetery with Pastor Douglas Bauman officiating. In keeping with Mr. Fear’s wishes, visitation is not planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clifty.
