Harlan “Buddy” H. Tyner, 71, Indianapolis, passed away May 21, 2017. He was born March 5, 1946, to the late Harlan H and Erma Z. Horn Tyner. Buddy graduated from Shortridge High School, Class of 1964, and also graduated from SAMS Technical Institute.

He married Rhonda J. Hooks July 24, 2005.

Buddy retired from Ford Motor Co. as an electrician in 2013. He previously worked for RCA, for Stagehand Local #30, The Omni Coliseum in Atlanta, Georgia, and was the operator of the Zamboni for many years at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Coliseum. He was also a member of UAW Local #1111, ABATE, the Harley Owners Group “HOG” and was a Life Scout for the Boy Scouts of America.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St., and from 11 a.m. until service time at noon Friday. Interment will follow in Union Chapel Cemetery.

Buddy is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda J. Tyner; daughter, Tammy Tyner Behrman (Jon); son, Troy Harlan Tyner (Tasha); step-son, Ryan S. Crenshaw (Caitlin); step-daughter, Ami L. Hockman (Michael); six grandchildren, Harlan, Claire, Oscar, Tristan, Tyson and Erica; two sisters, Linda J. Bray and Karen L. Newsom (Jack); and his brother, Harold L. Tyner (Debbie).
