Columbus police arrested a local man for possession of methamphetamine after a traffic stop.
Officer Drake Maddix saw the driver of a moped, later identified as Jose Manuel Irizarry Rivera, 33, Columbus, fail to signal a turn at 15th and Union streets, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
Maddix determined Rivera’s license was suspended and a short time later the officer found methamphetamine in one of Rivera’s pants pockets, Harris said.
Rivera was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine and driving while suspended with a prior conviction, Harris said.
