Giving Circle sponsoring literature program for girls

The Heritage Fund’s Women’s Giving Circle of Bartholomew County is sponsoring a new project to inspire young girls through literature.

“Turning the Page … For Girls in Bartholomew County” will provide books, including biographies about empowered women and those containing strong female characters, to area elementary school libraries. The titles, including “Almost Astronauts: 13 Women Who Dared to Dream” by Tanya Stone and “Rad American Women A-Z” by Kate Schatz, among others, were selected by Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. administrators.

The goal for the project is to raise $5,000 to purchase the books. To donate, visit the Heritage Fund website at heritagefundbc.org/donate/ and type “Turning the Page” in the first field.

The Women’s Giving Circle seeks to empower women through philanthropy and to make a positive change in the lives of women and families in Bartholomew County.
