Louis Chandler Johnson, 78, of North Vernon, died at 2:24 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at his residence.
He is survived by sons, David Louis (Phyllis) Roybal of Clovis, New Mexico and Scott Johnson of North Vernon; daughters, Deborah (Harrison Combs) DeLaGarza of Houston, Texas, Colleen Simpson and Tammy Lehman, both of North Vernon; sister, Juanita Singleton of Vernon; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris E. Pacheco; and son, Martin E. Johnson.
A funeral service for Mr. Johnson will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Sunday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with the Rev. Mark Sorrels officiating. Family and friends may call from 3 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home on Sunday. Military honors will be provided by members of Matt Hester Post #2021 V.F.W. A private family committal service will be conducted on Monday.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of Jennings County.
