Gabriel “Rose” Sachiko Callahan passed away quietly at her home on June 11, 2017, of stage 4 colon cancer. She was 49 years of age.

She arrived in the United States when she was 22 years of age and became a U.S. citizen at age 30. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church and was employed in administration at KN Platech in Shelbyville until she became disabled in 2014.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church with Father Andy Syberg officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m.

Rose is survived by her parents, Yasuto and Kiyoko Uchihori, and her brother, Hikaru Uchihori, all of Yokohama, Japan; her son, Jimmy Callahan, and his father, Russell Callahan, both of Columbus;  as well as her companion, Steve Schoettmer of Elizabethtown.
