Hargus Brewer Jr., 67, of Columbus, died at 5:09 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2017, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mr. Brewer was a Vietnam veteran and retired from the United States Marine Corps as a gunnery sergeant. He was a career recruiter for the Marines. Hargus was also a member of First Assembly of God in Bedford. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and riding his Harley motorcycle.
Following his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Brewer was born Jan. 4, 1950, at home in Orleans, Indiana, to the late Hargus and Evelyn Kay Brewer Sr.
Survivors include his children, Julie (Matt) Geilker, Melissa (David) Boyer and Hargus P. Brewer; grandchildren, Taylor and Braeden Jones, Andrew, Tyler and William Boyer; and sisters, Moyne Lininger of Columbus and Patricia Mullis of Bedford.
Hargus was preceded in death by his brother, George Brewer; and sisters, Beulah Mae Robertson, Margaret Burton, Shirley Brazzell, Ruth Kay Embree, Carol Jean Kelly and Mary Sue Shosh.
Arrangements were entrusted to Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home.
