Columbus moves city meetings to community center

Columbus is moving this week’s city meeting schedule to the Hamilton Community Center & Ice Arena as repairs continue to a city hall elevator.

The elevator, which has been out of service for more than a week, is expected to be repaired by early July, said Jamie Brinegar, the city’s director of finance, operations and risk.

To ensure that all public meetings are accessible, meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday are being moved to a recently remodeled conference room at Hamilton Community Center, 2501 Lincoln Park Drive.

Meeting that are being moved include:

Tuesday — Columbus Board of Works, 10 a.m.; and Columbus Board of Zoning Appeals, 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday — Executive session of the Columbus Human Rights Commission, 3:45 p.m., followed by a commission meeting at 4:30 p.m.

Anyone with accessibility needs who has business at City Hall during the next week is asked to call 812-376-2500 to make arrangements.
