Sharon R. Whedon, 70, of Columbus, died at 1:50 a.m. Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Sharon loved her family, playing bingo and karaoke. She retired after more than 30 years of service at Cummings Engine Company.

The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Katherine Rutan officiating. Calling will be from 11:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Sharon was born Feb. 24, 1947, in Indianapolis, to the late Maurice and Leona Cleghorn Ash.

On April 1, 1972, she married Larry Whedon.

Survivors include her children, Cheryl Posey of Columbus, Michael (Heather) Whedon of Taylorsville, William (Debbie) Whedon and Alexa Whedon, both of Columbus; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; sister, Ramona (Steve) Marcum; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; great-grandchild, Geonna Lloyd; three sisters; and two brothers.
