Wrestling fundraiser today for food pantries

Hoosier Pro Wrestling of Columbus continues its local outreach it has done throughout the years with Aaron’s 16th annual Fill-the-Shelves canned food drive event at 6 p.m. today outdoors at Aaron’s furniture and electronics store, 2675 N. National Road.

Admission to a full card of matches is free with six cans of food per person. The food will benefit local food banks. Hoosier Pro Wrestling also has generated thousands of dollars for other causes such as the Firemen’s Cheer Fund.

After last year’s fill-the-shelves event, Jerry Wilson of Hoosier Pro Wrestling coordinated the donation of more than 400 pounds of food to the Love Chapel food pantry, and more than more than 150 cans to the local America and Roby Anderson Community Center.

Another collection of donated canned goods went to a few local church food pantries.
