Lucas on 3 study committees

State Rep. Jim Lucas, R-Seymour, who represents a portion of Bartholomew County, recently was named to three summer study committees, which examine assigned topics, gather testimonies and recommend potential legislation.

His assignments are the Interim Study Committee on Public Policy, Joint Committee on Judiciary and Public Policy and Military Base Planning Council.

Lucas said in a news release that he is especially excited to discuss the constitutional carry issue, educating people on their Second Amendment right and what constitutional carry does and does not do.

Lucas said he supports eliminating the law requiring a lawful person to obtain a license to carry a firearm.
