Scipio
Kathryn L. Ross, 73, of Scipio, passed away at 8:05 p.m. on Friday, July 7, 2017, at Willow Crossing Health and Rehabilitation Center in Columbus.
Born June 30, 1944, in Columbus, Mrs. Ross was the daughter of Harry and Pauline Hudson Gruhl. In 1967, she married William “Bill” Ross in Scipio. He survives.
Mrs. Ross was a graduate of Columbus North High School and worked as a housekeeper for the Holiday Inn, Columbus Regional Hospital and the Community Care, all in Columbus. She had also worked as the secretary for Filter Queen in Columbus and worked for Arvin’s. She was a member of the former Alert Eastern Star Chapter. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and camping.
Surviving with her husband, William “Bill” Ross are sons, Patrick (Linda Carson) Ross and Brian (Jennifer) Ross, both of Elizabethtown and Brett Erick (Michele) Ross of North Vernon; brother, Harry Herman Gruhl Jr. of Hope; sister, Beverly Beeker of St. Louis Crossing in Bartholomew County; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her aunt, Pat Hitchel.
In keeping with her and the family’s wishes, cremation is planned with burial in the Scipio Cemetery at a later date. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services were entrusted with the care of these arrangements.
Memorials may be made in honor of Mrs. Ross through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
